Travel Tips for New Braunfels

Enjoy The Music and Let Tony's Taxi drive you

by SunshineC

Last night I went to Gruene Hall to see Hal Ketchum! Great atmosphere and Great Music! Best of all I enjoyed myself by letting loose and didn't worry about driving because when we got out Tony's Taxi was waiting to drive me back to my hotel. You can have a GOOD TIME and still be RESPONSIBLE. Small town feeling. Friendly people. Our taxi driver was GREAT and HELPFUL!

Packing List

by Jim35

Sunhat, shoes that you can get wet, swim suit, sunglasses. SUNBLOCK - You'll be out on the river in full sun for about 4 hours, possibly more, so if you burn easily bring a high SPF sunblock. A waterproof camera would be good. Make sure it has a string so you can tie it to your tube.

Gruene

by Tom_Fields

Gruene (pronounced like "green") is one of the most picturesque towns in all of the Texas Hill Country. If you visit New Braunfels, this should be on your list. With a number of hotels, guest houses, restaurants, and the famous Greune Hall, you can find plenty of attractions here.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark

by deWilde

"Wet and Wild"

If you are in New Braunfels you MUST go to the Schlitterbahn Waterbark. It is truely amazing how vast this park is and how many cool rides they have. The buikding seemed to be designed to replicate a small German village. My favorite ride was the tubing ride that seemed to last for days. Endless tubing which makes for great layout time. I think it goes for miles. They also have these huge pools with tables in them for eating. The heated pool was my favorite but always had me wondering if kids were drinking and then peeing in the water. Yikes!
