PSA Star Center
by grandmaR
The Plano Sports Authority has this complex which includes a full size NHL hockey rink where the Dallas Stars have a pro shop. My SIL is very sports minded and does attend sporting events there.
Their website says: "Plano Sports Authority was founded as a non-profit agency in December, 1970 when the individual sports leagues incorporated to form one administrative youth sports organization. It provides quality year-round recreational sports leagues to all boys and girls who live within the Plano Independent School District and surrounding areas."
But the Star Center itself is only two years old. PSA offers 20 different sports to local children including Football, Baseball, Fastpitch Softball, Girls’ Volleyball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance Team, Figure Skating, Indoor Lacrosse, Indoor Soccer, Arena Football, Inline Hockey, Wrestling, Track, Soccer, Rugby, Lacrosse, Fencing, Golf and Ice Hockey.
Donuts all day, all night
by virtualling about Krispy Kreme
I'm sure many of you have had Krispy Kreme.
I've had Dunkin Donuts and others back in Kuala Lumpur and decided to give Krispy Kreme a try since it was Thursday, umm.. well, I was hankering for a few donuts.
The texture is mushy, not all that sweet.
Different from what I've had before in other places.
Do you like KK donuts? What do you think about it...?
Price per donut is about 79 cents or so.
Place is opened till 10pm and drive thru is 24 hours.
Heritage Farmhouse Museum
by keeweechic
It is an authentically restored 1895 Victorian farmhouse which has all of its original outbuildings. In its day it was a working farmhouse although pretentious for its time. It was opened as a museum for the purpose of interpreting rural life on the Blackland Prairie in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The main building of the museum is the restored 1891 Farrell-Wilson House which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
On the 4 acre property are 7 restored original buildings which include a potting shed, blacksmith shop, smokehouse, sheep and ram barns and a pole bard – as well as the main house which has 14 rooms all furnished with large furniture, small objects, books etc from this period. The external buildings are all equipped with farm implements and machinery which date back to the 1890’s to the 1910’s. There are also live animals around the property.
Closed Mondays and Public Holidays
