Jellyfish

We are thinking of renting a beach house for the week of July 4 with our 2 little guys 5 and 3. Are the jellyfish bad at this time of year? Thanks for your help.

Jellyfish come and go all times of year. I'm sure there is a rhyme or reason (water temp, tide, etc.). Best advice - check out the water before you let your little ones in and always carry some meat tenderizer with you.

Yes just look around before you go in and meat tenderizer is a quick cure/relief or you can urinate on the effected area I was told by someone there ! No big deal anyway, the local parents I saw were not to concerned and the children were having the time of their lives.

Great Family Trip

"Fun And Relaxing"
We took two days to drive to Port A from Dallas, TX. Stopped to visit some historical sites for my husband's family -- one side who arrived from Germany/Austria (Moravia) and the other who arrived from Poland -- both in the 1880s.
Port A. is very very laid back. We spent our days at the pool and on the beach, then napping in the condo in-between.
With two busy young boys we had some necessities -- a TV with lots of cable channels, a pool, and a condo with two bedrooms and bathrooms. The Pelican Condos fit the bill. Definitely NOT fancy but with all the above and good air conditioning and a small kitchen.
Get ready to RELAX!
