You might want to go over to St Jo's for 1/2 a day.
San Jose Island is a private island, however, the area near the jetty and the beach is open to the public.
It is accessible by boat, no facilities, just miles of sand and an uncrowded beach.
It takes about 15 minutes by jetty boat to get over there.
Be sure to take something to drink and plenty of sunscreen.
falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves, crisp air everywhere, sunshine first thing every morning, the sweet aroma of salt water.... sand in everything! no escape from the elements, when it gets windy...oh ITS horrible! love/hate relationship!
contrary to popular belief, it is NOT legal in texas to drink and drive as long as one is not intoxicated. thanks to the nice local police chief for informing us of this in a pleasant manner.
