Terrell lies in the north east section of Texas, about 30 miles east of Dallas and just east of Rockwall It is the largest town in Kaufman County which is made up of 788 sq mls of the Blackland Prairie region. There is no shortage of recreational facilities with 150 acres are set aside for recreational purposes. There are 3 lakes relatively close by and 2 golf courses.

One of the 12 shops in Goliad Place. Eloise's is a collectors haven for all kinds of imaginable things including a Teddy Adoption Centre. The shop has been taken over by new owners and they will be updating their web site in the future.

If Cows are your thing, then you will find brightly coloured cows, some patriotic, some space cows.. whatever.

Many of the small knick knacks and collectibles are displayed in immaculate glass cases.

"The Wedding Cottage"

Appearances can be deceiving but apparently behind this door is a chapel which is fully decorated with flowers and greenery, Victorian flower baskets, candelabras and candles down the aisle. There is a reception area large enough to accommodate 150 people. There is even a Bride’s room and a Grooms room for changing. All you wedding photos can be taken here. It’s a walk in the door and complete package.

Also within the little village are Jill's Dolls and Treasures, Art Ventures, What's in Store, Rockwall School of Music and Goliad Station.

Unfortunately the Upper Crust Cafe - renowned for its bread pudding and having just won awards for it - had a fire prior to my visit and will have to be rebuilt.
