This is Texas. It IS a gun culture and guns are legal. If you are a citizen with a clean criminal record you can purchase guns over the counter. You can qualify for a concealed weapons permit also. We like guns. We like feeling protected. It is OUR heritage. I don't expect outsiders or visitors to understand it but they dog gone well better know about it.
Round Rock is the home of a famous Wild West shoot out between Sheriff A.W. Grimes and the notorious outlaw Sam Bass. I live right off of A.W. Grimes Road. Law was handled by gun carrying Sheriffs, Police, and Texas Rangers. It still is today.
