Alamo Quarry Market
by BellaMora
This is a nice spot to check out if you are visiting the city. Its away from downtown and has plenty of shops and eateries. You can even catch a movie in this lavish theatre. You'll love it!
They even have a Whole Foods here that you can check out and take some goodies back to your hotel!
Its straight up 281N from downtown exit E. Basse on the right. It may take you 10-15 mins depending on where downtown you are.
Jim Cullum's Landing - very packed place
by Maria250 about Jazz, jazz, and more jazz
Jim Cullum's Landing "..is located on the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk, literally "just across the alley from the Alamo" in the Hyatt Regency in downtown San Antonio.
The Jim Cullum Jazz Band, America's premier 7-piece Classic Jazz ensemble, plays Monday through Saturday beginning at 7:30 PM. On Sunday nights, the popular San Antonio jazz group Small World takes over on the outside patio.
Live jazz duos are featured on the outdoor riverside patio (weather permitting) from 3:00 PM non-stop until 12:30 AM.
The menu of the Landing features fine cuisine, fine liquors, domestic & imported beers and wines, gourmet coffees, pies and cheesecake, and above all the hottest of hot jazz. All ages are welcome. Dress is casual.."
Attitude Served Here.......LOL!
by Yaqui about Dick's
I got a kick out of this place because the waiters and waitresses like to mess with you, so be prepared and just have a sense of humor ok:-). I didn't really eat here, but instead had a huge glass of ice tea since it was rathers warm then. Yet, the food they kept bring out looked and smelled really yummy, but I was saving myself for a simi formal dinner down the walk. Sorry Dick's:-p. I sat on a bench table along the Riverwalk and enjoyed the view while enjoying my ice tea. Oh, there is pleanty of sitting inside also.
Romantic evening or Party Time, you choose

The riverwalk is a place where everyone from everywhere else goes to enjoy. It is fun to walk at night and enjoy the balmy night air. Christmas time they put Christmas lights in the trees making it quite beautiful
Missions.
by darthmilmo
Missions. Yes, there are more besides the imfamous Alamo. And I don't mean the minor leage baseball team :). For those with a car i'd recommend a visit to the other missions south of the Alamo. You can start at Mission Concepcion, followed by the titanic Mission San Jose, then by the beautiful Mission San Juan, and culminating the tour at the small, natured packed, Mission Espada. For those without a car, inquire at your hotel for possible tours. Check out my San Antonio Missions National Park for more info, pics, and tips.
