Right Not to Bear Arms
by ATXtraveler
As you can imagine, several of the active parishes in San Antonio are not interested in allowing guests to carry firearms on the premises. “Blessed are the Peacemakers” is a common phrase seen around the mission areas, so make sure that you disarm before entering the national parks and the missions. Of course if you are packing heat, it is also good to remember to hide your gun in your car after disarming yourself, to ensure that you will not get your firearm stolen while respecting the wishes of the Archdiocese.
Enchanted Rock

Enchanted Rock (near Fredericksburg). Each year, this park welcomes thousands of day hikers. The rocks are trully amazing. Climbing them takes 15-45 minutes (depending on the weather and how fit you are). The reward, well is a priceless view of South Central Texas. If you visit in early Spring, you can even catch tons of eagles floating in the warm currents.
Home of Sizzingly Fajitas

Housed in an old New Orleans style building, it is one of the better Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. They are famous for the "Sizzling Frajita". Dining is available indoors or the outdoor patio.
You Must Try the Fried Broccoli
by lisa_lise about 410 Diner
This is a great lunch spot not too far from the airport. It's a true diner, big on food portions and small on floorspace, and when you come out you'll reek of fried food. But it's so tasty, it's worth it. They have lunch specials written on chalkboards inside. Whatever you get, make sure the fried broccoli is one of your side dishes. They remove the florets, fry the stalks, and serve them with a ranch sauce. They're not served everyday, though, so you might call ahead to be sure. The ceasar salad is a favorite of one of my friends, and I like the grilled chicken breast with avocado and tomato, and also the grilled chicken breast covered in mushrooms. To complete your Southern comfort food experience, a mini-slab of cornbread comes with almost every meal, too.
Quite a nice boatride
by 807Wheaton
We enjoyed another beautiful day of great weather when we went to the Riverwalk.
There were not any long lines waiting for the boats when we bought our tickets. We paid $5 for a senior rate for the Riverboat Cruise. Our guide pointed out the significant buildings along the river. It's a different way to see the city of San Antonio, and later when you walk along the river, you can identify places that were mentioned by the guide. You can pick up the Riverboat Cruise just a very short walk from the Alamo. We walked through the mall that is there, which took us to the river.
