Hawthorn Suites San Antonio: Security Alert!    Check Rates

    • The hotel was very nice. However, the location of the hotel is very misleading. DO NOT stay in hotels in San Antonio located on IH 35 between Eisenhauer Rd and Rittiman. Auto theft and crime is high due to surrounding neighborhoods. This was the advise that the San Antonio Officer, Tow Truck driver and Service Advisor at the car dealership told us after we discovered that our brand new vehicle had been vandilized and contents of our vehicle had been stolen. The hotel has security cameras but the thiefs new enough about the coverage of the cameras to stay out of their view. The officer and tow truck driver said that La Quinta gets hit more than Hawthorn Suites. We should have taken the clue when we saw the Sherrif Deputy acting as security guard at the Red Lobster just a few blocks north of the hotel.
