Great Rooms hotel!!!

We stayed here with our two young children. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is brand new and spotlessly clean. The suite rooms are well-laid out and were perfect for our family. We didn't get to use the pool or hot tub, but we looked in and they appeared to be really inviting. Awesome Breakfast in the morning, with many wonderful choices and a gorgeous CLEAN BREAKFAST area with tables and chairs well organized. Sparkling clean From the parking lot to the lobby to the room! Unbelievably GREAT customer service. La Quinta Inn Alamo Dome! I will never stay anywhere else!

how do we get the shuttle bus?and does it go downtown? or can we take the bus to our hotel?

Re: san antonio

by TexasDave

Sorry, but no one can answer your question, which you posted on the San Antonio Forum, because it lacks particulars (Shuttle bus from where? Which hotel?) You might want to try again including specifics.

It really does help to be as specific as possible.

In the meantime, if you're coming from the airport, the airport's website is www.sanantonio.gov/aviation. There's a menu on the left side of the screen, if you place your mouse over "Travelers" it gives you a link to more ground transportation information.

Additionally, you might want to contact your hotel directly and ask them if they have a shuttle.

Travel Tips for San Antonio

Missions

by Dr._Aldakov

In the greater San Antonio you can find at least 6 missions: ancient buidings combining a fortress and a monastery aimed at spreading a christianity at the times of Cortes. The most famous one is the Alamo, having a historical value while the others are more interesting touristically. Besides the fact that they are beautiful, you would be astonished by the force of this ancient stones, graves and arches. It's really amazing ang worth shifting 10 mile from the downtown, especially taking into account the uniqueness of such missions.

Feed the animals

by kyoub

The Wildlife Ranch and the Natural Cavern are almost side by side, a short drive from San Antonio.
Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch is home to over 500 animals from around the world. See, feed, and photograph to your heart's content while you drive through this picturesque, Texas Hill Country ranch.
You are given one sack of food per carload and extra sacks are available for purchase.
As you drive around on the gravel road the animals come to the car to be fed. Watch your sack though because they will try to grab it.
The young kids love this place.

rock music

by doug48 about nerve ana

nerve ana is located on the second floor above joe's crab shack on the river walk. this night club caters to a younger crowd with 90's rock music. nerve ana has two entrances, one on college street and one on the river walk next to joe's crab shack. casual

Lovely cafe in the King William District

by Jefie about Guenther House

The nice garden cafe at Guenther House is a great place to go for a Southern/Tex-Mex breakfast or lunch (breakfast is served all afternoon). Located in the beautiful King William District, the Guenther House Cafe has a refined yet casual atmosphere, and it really isn't expensive. As this was the home of the Pioneer Flour Mills' founding family, you can expect a lot of Pioneer products on the menu and if you really enjoy them, you can stop by the gift shop afterwards to bring some home. You can also take a few minutes after your meal to tour around the house. There's not that much to see, but it's free of charge. My breakfast tacos were delicious and filled me up all the way to dinner!

Serious Rides!

by Jannacle

Fiesta Texas is a Six Flags Park and has some excellent Roller coasters, very hair raising, there is also a small water park. This unlike many of the other parks allows people to buy alcohol however and I found that it changed the atmosphere a lot. If you are planning a family outing I suggest you go on a week day when fewer drunk cowboys will be milling around. Food is high priced but not for an amusement park.
