More about Marriott Rivercenter
Marriott Rivercenter Super Hotel Super Location
by TripAdvisor Member faes
The Marriott Rivercenter was an excellent hotel and surprisedly closer to the Riverwalk than I had expected. It is a 35 story hotel with a huge lobby. The congierce was very helpful with walking directions. Attached is great mall which will also get you right outside to the Alamo in a few minutes. I was told when I made the reservation I would have a "City Skyline" view but it seems the hotel was close to full when we arrived early in the evening and we were given a corner room with a parking lot view instead. The pool and sauna were closed due to renovations, which I feel should be information given when you make our reservation, but you were allowed to use the facilities next door at the Marriott Riverwalk. The covered parking was $17 self and $23 valet but most of the hotels charge about that. The hotel earns its 4 stars with comfortable duvet covered beds and marble bath counters. They could improve on the towels though. I have had softer ones. We did have the breakfast package which was a buffet with made to order omelets, hot belgian waffles, fresh squeezed o.j., hot biscuits, lean bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, yoqurt, eggs and much more. The Riverwalk was terrific with many cafes to choose from. I would definitely love to return to San Antonio on a weekend to further enjoy the Riverwalk and would most likely stay at the Marriott Rivercenter unless I found a comparable hotel with free parking or did not have a car.
Way Cool!

This has to be one of the most interesting shopping malls I have seen and its all do to the fact is the riverboat tours or taxi will bring right to the main entrance. Once inside they have a very open entrance floor and I assume its because of the many events they may have take place here. Its a really nice clean mall and has lots to choose from as far as selection. So venture around and has different floors too.
Oh the Marriott Hotel is connected to the mall and offers a variety of packages,

Great Place to stay during Non-Peak season

I stayed at the Marriott Rivercenter with my boyfriend and two friends in November 2004. Due to it being in November, we got a great rate considering it was a hotel located on the Riverwalk. Our room was great and seemed to have been updated recently. Nice decor and a large bathroom. We also enjoyed the pool, exercise room, and mostly the entrance into the Rivercenter Mall.
Although a great stay for the price, the lobby did appear to be dated and could have used a face lift. I have checked prices for the summer and feel that they are a bit outrageous, topping most of the other Riverwalk hotels. This is a nice hotel if you get a great rate, otherwise, it is not up to the $$$$ standards that you might expect.
Great Time at a Great Hotel!

We made a last minute reservation to stay for Saturday night, February 19. At check-in, we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite. The suite was outstanding! The room was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is located right on the Riverwalk, with good restaurants within walking distance. This was a great time at a great hotel.
We had a great family vacation here.

We decided to go at the last minute to San Antonio, we were wanting an indoor pool and a hotel close to all the sites for our family of 5. We loved it! I am very picky were I like to stay, my husband and three boys are not. Very clean and kept well. The pool was an indoor pool that you could swim under a glass wall to the outside, which my kids loved. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes convention hotels can be run down and feel like a convention center, I did not feel that way here. The Riverwalk of course is right there and it is attached to a shopping Center which came in handy for last minute things to get . It was very close to the Alamo, I highly recommend the Ripleys Haunted House across from the Alamo. But not the other Ripley attractions.
I have only one complaint, the food in the lobby restaraunt was horrible.
Great night!

We got a great military rate for one night - wonderful hotel - very nice rooms and comfortable bed. Clean - very professional and friendly staff. First room we were given was on the other side of the wall where the ice machine was so we switched. Beautiful view and super convenient!
Nice hotel. Great Location

Had a great time in San Antonio. Tagged along with my wife for a conference and stayed at this Marriott. Top notch hotel with a great location. Everythink you would expect from a Marriott hotel. We just scraped the surface of San Antonio and can't wait to come back.
Worse than the 2 star hotel
by TripAdvisor Member tnghi121
Our family stayed there during the Memorial Weekend and I was so disappointed. The exterior of the hotel is fine. The location is excellent, but the room is similar to a 2 stars hotel: very small room, very uncomfortable and old bed, the bathroom and toilette is very dirty. I have always been a big fan of hotels such as Westin, Hilton, Marriott but this one particular hotel would make me think twice about a 4 stars hotel next time.

Any public transport to Outlet mall?
by nsrao98
I have one free day on 23rd Sept (Sunday) and if possible wish to visit OutletMalls (Prime outlet/Tanger at San Marcos).
1. Is there any public transport to and back between Downtown San Antonioand San Marcos?
2. Alternately can I get a taxi to San Marcos?
3. Are there any car rentals open on sunday morning in downtown area?
Thanks,
NS
