How Many hours from Lubbock Texas to drive to San Antonio Texas 78216

Re: TIME

by Mighty

Wow... um just a quick note... If you have out of state plates OBEY THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT and any other traffic law you can think of on that drive. And don't plan on making it in 8 hours... Lots of little bergs out there aren't really quite so nice or honest to people from out of state, or anybody else who looks like they don't have any recouse. So don't give 'em any 'scuses.

Hey, I'm not real proud of it, and I certainly don't want you to think that we're all like that, but in teensy little towns it doesn't take that many votes to elect a sherrif, and they aren't necessarily all nice.

FYI, FFR.. :)

Travel Tips for San Antonio

Here is a good San Antonio...

by rids

Here is a good San Antonio summer recipe. There will be a winter one later -- MUCH LATER!
Sopa de Tomate Aguacate

2 lg. avocados (aguacates), peeled and chopped
1 cup sour cream
4 sm. tomatoes, chopped
1 can beef bouillon
1/4 cup onion, minced
1 tsp. salt
fresh ground pepper to taste
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Tabasco (or other hot sauce)
minced chives or green onion tops

Set aside the chives or green onion tops and enough sour cream for garnish. Blend all other ingredients in blender. Serve ice cold in chilled mugs. Garnish with a dollup of sour cream sprinkled with chives or green onion tops.

Calavera lake and/or Medina Lake

by darthmilmo

If crowds are not your style, then may I suggest the less visited Calavera lake and/or Medina Lake. Both are ideal for fishing, and Medina even offers some of the nice views offered in Canyon Lake. Spend a day or two in here to cool off

Very good but expensive

by GUYON about The Little Rhein

Joan adviced us to have a lunch to the Little Rhein which is a great restaurant of the Riverwalk.
We chose a Prime Strip Loin which was big enough to go beyond the plate and our budget (38$ per capita ) but it was very tasty.
We do not regret the meal even it worthed 116$ for two without wine.
The picture shows what we saw from our table.

Some like it Hot..

by Sweetberry1 about Mexican..

This is a hard one... ;-) We ate at so many Resturants along the Riverwalk, I can't remember the names. One was a really good Mexican eatery, and I remember we had to wash away some of the heat from our mouths. There was lots there to take care of that.. ;-)

Nothing makes Texans more proud....

by msbrandysue

Visiting the Alamo is a very special thing for Texans. I went when I was a child but nothing ever meant more than after I had just taught the lesson to my second grade class. To stand in a room where women and children were kept during the battle, or to look at the clothes Davey Crockett wore the week he gave his life for my state, it just brings many realizations to you.

The Alamo is a wonderful piece of heroic history. Although we lost we will never forget the men who gave their life for our state. In the words of Sam Houston, "REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!"

PS....There's a WONDERFUL gift shop!!!
