This is the only hotel that I know of that the whole building was moved on rollers 5 blocks to it's new home at the La Villita Historic district. It was built in 1906 and went through a huge two year renovation that was completed in 2006. The hotel has a victorian quality to it with quaint sitting areas instead of empty spaces.
From the time the valet helps you out of your car, to the cosy lounge and friendly front desk...you'll notice it's lavishness and beautifully done decor. I did notice that the Luca Ristorante has a more of a modern quality to it rather than the victorian look which has always been it's signature quality. On the whole, I enjoyed the seating area in the rooms, it makes for a more spaceous room.
The hotel is within walking distance from the Riverwalk and various restaurants as well as the Rivercenter Mall.
Even though kids under 12 stay free...this is definitely for a romantic getaway.
