Nice Off Season Accommodation
My wife and I arrived Sunday, Feb. 24th and left Thursday, Feb. 27th 2008. We enjoyed this hotel very much. It was not crowded in the off-season and it is located on the north end of the 'strip'. It was quiet with most of the people staying there in the 50 to 70 age range. The breakfast was served between 6:30 am and 9:30 am. It was good every morning, even when we got down to the lobby at 9:00. My wife is on the low carb diet, and she had a cheese omelet and bacon or sausage or scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. They also had cereal and bagels and 3 juices and cinnamon rolls to name a few. There are 2 washing machines and 2 dryers that are coin operated. The hotel is on South Padre Drive, so it is about a block to the beach on the ocean side.
Unique Quality: The outside pool is not heated, and was too cold for us to swim, but not too cold for 4 teenagers that were staying there. We really enjoyed the heated hot tub. That was nice.
There were tables set up on the second floor with puzzles on them. It was a good place to meet fellow guests while your laundry was getting done.
Directions: When you get on the island, turn left, north and drive about 5 miles. It is on the right.
