Sulphur Springs, TX overnight visit
We were visiting our grandson for his birthday and decided to stay over so we could see them the next day...booked online with Super8.com that is where the fun ended. Everything about our stay was horrible (other than seeing the grandchildren)! Because we visited as late as possible we arrived at the hotel very late so we didn't leave but should have.
The night staff was friendly but very unprofessionally dressed to be greeting hotel guests!
Our room had no phone so we had no way to communicate with the front desk other than to get dressed and go all the way back up front!
The electrical outlets sparked when you tried to plug things in (great for our electronics I'm sure) and most didn't have covers on them at all.
TV was unplugged so my husband had to maneuver around the heavy chest to get to the cord and plug it in (again it sparked) so he could watch the television.
Toilet wouldn't flush properly.
Bathroom door knob was coming out of the door.
Outside in the light of the morning we could see that the landscaping and shrubs were a mess.
There were doors to the outside from the rooms but we were told they were exit doors only.
No wireless internet had to use the connection for the Holiday Inn which I never saw in the area so I'm not sure what that was all about.
Bed was horribly uncomfortable...woke up with a back ache.
Security was a concern since the safety chain (yes they still had the old style chain) was broken.
Pictures depict most of this but we managed to miss the door knob issue when we were taking pictures.
On checkout we were refused a receipt. The staff stated that is they way it was done since we booked on-line. We told her we booked on-line a lot and never had been refused a receipt but it didn't help she still refused.
There were crickets crawling all over the place but specifically on the floor and walls in the room.
A mysterious spider showed up on the bed the next morning.
