Ned Green, son of the 'Witch of Wall Street' Hetty Green (at the time the richest woman in America), was a colourful character, and as well-known for his personal exploits as for his business acumen. Ned Green made the first automobile trip in Texas, a jaunt from Terrell to Dallas, at flying speeds of 20-25 mph. He also suffered the first auto accident in Texas. During the Dallas trip, Green and an auto company representative George Dorris were squeezed off the road by a farm wagon and they ended up in a ditch! - I guess he forgot to use his horn!
Lake Ray Hubbard

Lake Ray Hubbard is a large 22,745-acre reservoir on the East Fork of the Trinity River which borders 4 counties. It is a very popular recreation lake with boating and swimming activities, unfortunately drownings occur all too frequently. Robertson Park is the 2nd most popular park and has one of the many Marinas that line the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. There is also a restaurant there. 12 miles west of Terrell on Hwy 80.

Scuba 101

Nice scuba park in the middle of East Texas. There are about 5 docks, small lake, visibility 15 -20 feet at best. You can pitch a tent and camp for the weekend. Decent place If not heading somewhere exotic and want to take a dive to refresh.
