Ramage Old Farm Market
by keeweechic
This cool looking building is a great place to stop off and stretch your legs. They have a eating area and sell BBQ Sandwiches and plate lunches as well as fried pies, cheesecake and other homemade dishes.
The "market" is stocked with Texas souvenir goodies as well as preserves, syrups, candies, and much more which are made in their kitchens.
Located : At Hooks exit #208 and I-30. (West of Texarkana).

"Twice As Nice"
Texarkana is quite unique in that the city is divided by two states. The State line runs down the middle of the main street (State Line Avenue). The post office is unique because it has two zip codes - 71854 for Texarkana, Arkansas and 75501 for Texarkana, Texas.
In 1850 the boundary between Texas and Arkansas was established. This was an area in the Piney woods area of East Texas and the Southwest portion of Arkansas. In 1860 early settlers began to stake their claim to lands along the state line. After the railroad completed its last stretch of line in 1873, the town of Texarkana was born. The three parts of the name Texarkana honour the three states - Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.
In 1992 Texarkana had a total population of 120,132, 31,656 of whom lived on the Texas side. Texarkana is filled with historic sites and you will find a lot of memorials that honour soldiers of various wars.
While there is a Texarkana TX and a Texarkana AK, I decided to put the city altogether under the Texas side where most of the attractions are.
