A All American City, we actualy was selected for this. I was born and raised here as was my father and mother. The town owes it's economy to 5 petroleum refineries and a deep water channel. You have swamps to the North and South, Galveston Bay to the East, and old rice farms to the West. It makes a interesting mix for salt water fishing and duck/dove hunting. We have a small fleet of comercial shrimp and oyster boats.
