The Camellia Garden
by VeronicaG
When I think of Camellias, my mind turns to thoughts of the Old South, antebellum mansions and plantation belles draped in their finest dresses.
For this reason, I just had to include the CAMELLIA GARDEN, which is within the Tyler Muncipal Rose Garden complex. They are so gorgeous!
Camellias are among the first flowers to appear in early Spring. They need semi-shade to thrive. They're considered evergreen shrubs or trees whose flowers vary from white to pink or red and yellow. My favorite is the pale pink shown in the photo, but you'll see three other types in the additional pictures.
Once you finish visiting the Municipal garden, follow the AZALEA TRAIL. You'll not only glimpse camellias, but azaleas, daffodils, tulips and other flowering trees such as: dogwood, pear, red bud and the tulip tree.
