Bergfeld Park--Arts & Crafts Festival
As we were traipsing from garden to garden enjoying the azaleas, we came across Bergfeld Park. It was the site of a large arts and crafts festival for which there was no charge.
The booths offered wooden birdhouses, artwork, jewelry and other crafts. A nice little playground (picture #2) gave the children a break from walking along the Azalea Trail.
Several events are held throughout the Azalea Trail Festival. We returned that evening for a concert (picture #3). Although there were only a small number in attendance, we appreciated the James Taylor songs a husband and wife duo presented. Am I giving away my age???
Town parks are a wonderful place to take the kids for a picnic or recreational outing and provides a needed green space in towns or cities. In this case, it was a great public place to hold an annual event such as the arts and crafts festival.
