Nice Budget Motel

$54 in April 2012. This hotel had a few extras, and I liked the younger Indian guy that worked there. An added bonus was seeing his beautiful 5 month old niece. Nice easy chair, small refrigerator, microwave, and a great TV with cable. In addition, the breakfast was not just the usual continental breakfast but included some hot food. There are several independent motels in town but the amenities are almost certainly not as nice. I would definitely stay here again, a good deal for the price.

Travel Tips for Van Horn

This is a perfect pace to stay...

This is a perfect pace to stay if you are planning a trip that inculdes spending time in Big Bend National park, Guadalupe Mountain NationalPark, Carlsbad Caverns and El Paso/Juarez, all being about a 1-2 hour drive from Van Horn.

Well, there really isn't to much to say about Van Horn, Texas. It is a small town midway between Carlsbad, New Mexico and El Paso and Big Bend, Texas. It is loaded with hotels and makes a great jump off point for trips to Beg Bend, Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountain. There is a pretty good Mexican Resteraunt on the main strip, if only I could remember the name. There is a pretty cool junk shop next to the resteraunt with some interesting sculptures in the yard.
