Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 21, 2010

Let me put it this way, there isn't a lot of choices to stay in or near Bryce Canyon, but there is good ole Ruby's, like a mirage that suddenly is real. Ruby's Inn has it all and is located only one mile from the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. A hotel, a campground and RV park. Inside the entrance building is the reception/registration area, an on site travelers store for needed items and tourist trinkets, restaurant and gasoline station. It is an easy drive to not only Bryce but to the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument and Scenic Byway 12.

Unique Quality: A great indoor swimming pool and spa to relax in and a complete general store. It is a non smoking rooms hotel. A/C rooms and High-Speed wireless internet. Even a Laundromat in on site.

Directions: Hwy 63, off Hwy 12, just before entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Hotel just outside park

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 12, 2007

Ruby's Inn is a large hotel just outside Bryce National Park. The hotel has a main lodge, motel units surrounding the grounds, and another hotel across the street. The main lodge has a large market with just about everything you would need. The main room, as you walk in, has a huge fireplace. The kind of old time lodge you dream about. There is a nice indoor pool which is great for kids.

Directions: Just outside the entrance to Bryce.

Great place near the canyon!

Best Western Ruby's Inn, the closest accommodations to Bryce Canyon National Park, is the perfect base for your exploration of scenic Southern Utah.

They offer good accommodations and amenities in the Bryce Canyon National Park region. They say that Ruby's Inn at Bryce Canyon is a destination in and of itself. But we don't agree with that. It's just a nice place to stay for a few nights.

At Bryce Canyon Best Western Ruby's Inn you can book and enjoy horseback riding, ATV and helicopter tours, along with Bryce Canyon western experiences such as chuckwagon dinners, rodeos and more.

The General Store at the Inn is very large, including an impressive selection of authentic Southwestern Indian arts and crafts including jewelry, pottery and weavings.

Unique Quality: Ruby’s Inn has 368 Spacious Guest Rooms, 2-Bedroom Suites, Non-Smoking Rooms, Color Satellite TV, Air Conditioning, Indoor and Outdoor Swimming Pools and Spas.

Open All Year!

Breakfast was unbelievable. We liked it very much. There was everything for everybody! Warm or didn't matter.

Directions: Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah 84764

Many Choices

There are many different choices around Bryce Canyon. The lodge inside the park would be most convenient, but it gets booked up way ahead of time. There's also a campground. Or, you can do what we did, which is stay at a hotel in a small town nearby. Ruby's Inn is the closest hotel to the park (not counting the park's own lodge), and during high season you can take a shuttle from the hotel to the park. Check out their website, below.

The National Park Service's website for Bryce Canyon has great info on all of these options:

Unique Quality: indoor swimming pool, air-conditioned rooms, restaurant, some suites with jacuzzis for after that long, strenuous hike

Directions: in the small town of Bryce

Best Western Ruby Inn

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

This is the closest hotel to Bryce Canyon National Park without staying at Bryce Canyon Lodge. It is only 5 miles from the heart of Bryce Canyon National Park. The complex has a lake, general store, full service restaurant, and a diner (reality a fast food restaurant). This is a great place to spend a couple of days. They even had the internet there so you can look up great tips from VT. The room here was very nice as well.

Unique Quality: There is an outdoor pool and an indoor pool with jacuzzi

Directions: About 1 mile south of Route 12 about 2 miles north of Bryce Canyon NP Entrance.

Best Western Ruby's Inn

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 12, 2004

This is a popular place just outside the entrance to Bryce Canyon NP. The Inn is run by the descendants of the family that first owned it and I believe it is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Ruby's Inn is a small complex with a restaurant, general store, meeting rooms and an indoor pool. The rooms are standard Best Western accommodations, but suites and interior rooms are available as well.

The rates are cheaper than the Bryce Canyon Lodge. Unlike the lodge, which closes in the winter, the property is open throughout the year. During winter months- November through March, you can get a room here for about $40 a night.. Rates are higher in the summer months, but Ruby's Inn remains a cheaper alternative to the Bryce Canyon Lodge. It is less than a mile to the entrance of Bryce Canyon and you could literally walk to the park from Ruby's Inn. The Bryce Canyon shuttle, which runs during the summer months, makes a stop here as well.

I stayed here for two nights in November, 2004. The room was small, but clean and comfortable and everything worked just fine. A great deal considering the location and the price. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, although the restaurant was overpriced and lacking in quality and the servers appeared to have a case of the winter blues. But this place would be my top choice for a hotel near Bryce Canyon.

Unique Quality: The inn has a restaurant, tour desk, one hour film development, laundry facilities and a store which sells souveniers and supplies. Also, there's a heated indoor pool, interior rooms and suites for families traveling with children.

Motel accommodation can be...

by written on August 25, 2002

Motel accommodation can be difficult to find if you are late arriving as we were. We had hoped to stay at the large Ruby's Inn, just north of the park entrance. This Best Western property has 368 rooms, but it was full when we arrived at around 7.00pm. They did find us somewhere else to stay not too far away, but when we arrived there the room was awful so we drove on and tried elsewhere. Once again the room was terrible, so we turned that down too. For obvious reasons I am not naming these accommodations other than to say that they were NOT part of any large chain of motels. We finally drove on to Parowan on the I-15 and stayed at the Best Western Inn there. So, be warned, find your accommodation early, and always ask to see the room first!
Double rooms $46-$66, but $95 in summer months.

Unique Quality: Very convenient to Bryce Canyon. It would have suited us admirably, had there been any vacancies.

We stayed at Best Western Ruby's Inn. It is just a few miles from the entrance to the Bryce Canyon Park. You may find cheaper accommodation but nowhere in the region beat this place for facilities and services.

We stayed in the Lakeview Lodges and this is the view of the lake the we enjoyed
We actually got a good deal as it was out of season and we only paid $69 plus tax a night

Unique Quality: Ruby's General Store, located in the main lodge, sells food, clothes, gifts, Indian arts and crafts, photo supplies... the list goes on. There is also a one hour photo developing shop. Heated indoor swimming pool, indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, laundromat, post office, liquor store, beauty salon and Art Gallery.
There is a very nice restaurant, Cowboys buffet and Steak Room and also the Canyon Diner which is more of a burger joint.
