Super 8: Nice Budget Motel in Saint George

by Basaic

$49 in August 2012. If your #1 priority is a fancy new motel then look elsewhere; but you probably won't find it anyway for this price. This hotel had a few extras, like a small refrigerator, microwave, and a nice TV with cable. The girl at the desk was friendly and professional, as was the manager. Breakfast was fine too. Very good value for the price.

Alpine Lodge: Nice Budget Motel in Heber City

by Basaic

$66 in August 2012. This hotel had a kitchenette and a nice TV with cable with lots of movie channels. It is a bit older though and had no phone (?) and no trashcan (?). If the budget is your main concern (or the kitchenette if you are staying longer term) this is a decent option; otherwise, there is a Holiday Inn Express in town.

In the middle of downtown.

Days Inn: Decent Budget Hotel in Springville

by Basaic

This was a decent Days Inn with good ammenities and a decent continental breakfast. A little toward the upper price range for "budget". Not a bad place to spend the night; just nothing to give it the extra star.

Zion Park Motel: Nice Independent Motel in Springdale

by Basaic

This is an old-style motel that has been owned by the same family since 1972. It is also one of the least expensive places to stay in Springdale, but unlike the other place this one is clean. My room had the normal ammenities plus a small refrigerator and a microwave. Comfortable bed to. The staff was nice and friendly. A good choice for anyone wanting to go to Zion National Park, who is on a tight budget.

The shuttle for Zion National Park stops right next door. Plenty of reataurants and bars nearby.

Scipio Hotel: Nice Independent Hotel in Scipio

by Basaic

I had planned to spend the night in Fillmore but the Best Western was overpriced with a rude desk clerk and the independents looked run down. Also a local I talked to said one of the independents was where they placed people just out of county lockup and drug rehab.

I decided to continue on and drove North on Interstate 15 to the small town (Population under 300) of Scipio. There I spotted the Scipio Motel which looked fairly nice from the outside. I went in and asked the desk clerk about a room. He seemed nice enough and with my military discount the room was $60. My room was large (extra size due to being a handicapped room) and had a small refirgerator and a microwave. Not bad for the price. I think it is the only motel in town but I would stay here again, anyway.

Harold's Place Hotel: Nice Independent Hotel in Panguitch

by Basaic

This is a nice independently owned hotel. I like the wood accents. The furniture in the room looked homey and there was carving on the headboard and around the mirror. The room was clean and the staff friendly. This is also about the least expensive motel near Bryce Canyon National Park. Price for the room includes a discount on breakfast at the restaurant owned by the same people. In addition to rooms they have cabins for about $10 more.

Bowen Motel: Decent Budget Motel in Moab

by Basaic

This is one of the old-style motels where you park right in front of the room. You can tell the facilities are older; but they try and keep them in good shape. There were no extras but everything worked and it was better than where I stayed the night before in Blanding, UT, and it was cheap for Moab. It is locally owned and the staff was nice and helpful. I would stay here again.

Outdoor pool, continental breakfast.

Super 8: Nice Budget Motel in Hurricane

by Basaic

This is a pretty nice Super 8. The pool and pool area is extra nice. It had all the normal ammenities: microwave, refrigerator, wi-fi, continental breakfast and the staff was pretty nice. Price was very low for what I got.

Tip Photo
Super 8: Substandard in Blanding

by Basaic

I frequently stay at a Super 8 or a Days Inn because they are cheap yet they are a step up from the bottom. They usually have a few extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave, and they have a continental breakfast. This one had none of the above. It did have a rude owner/manager though. The air conditioning was very weak and the Internet hit or miss. At least the room was clean. Avoid! There must be better places in town.

There is a good restaurant next door (see my tip)

Treaure Trail Motel, Kanab.: Comfortable room for a night. Kanab.

by pfsmalo

A run of the mill typical, on the street place but very clean room with TV, coffee machine. Motel is right on Center street and close to all amenities in Kanab. There is a pool, nut only for use in July/August.

Apparently the place was originally owned by Brigham Young, he of "this is the place" fame and controversial president of the LDS church for over 30 years.

We paid $56 inc. tax but w/o b'fast for a double.
