Savage Point B&B: Kanab's Sweetest & Friendliest B&B

This is an intimate, cozy B&B in a great location. There was plenty of privacy (a separate guest entrance, comfy bedroom & spacious bathroom), a woodstove, big orchard & garden in the back. The homemade breakfast (with jams from their garden...delicious) and plenty of expert advice from the interesting and attentive hosts made this a delightful home-away-from-home for the night. Kanab is small but sweet, and best of all - it really is in the heart of the BEST, most AMAZING Natl & State Parks. I even got a permit to THE WAVE at the morning BLM lottery in Kanab. Highly recommend.

Unique Quality: Very quiet and private. Pet friendly. Lovely antiques. Free wireless. Close to some neat trails like Peek-A-Boo Slot Canyon, Tom's Canyon. Walking distance of town. Host is a Park Ranger so was REAL helpful planning off the beaten path sidetrips.

Marble Canyon Lodge: Close to the Vermilion Cliffs

It was an okay place that has been operated by locals for quite some time. That gave me the feeling they need to pay more attention to the customer. It was quite, but old and the inside had not changed since it may have been a long term stay back in 1950's. It really is like a small apartment, with a full kitchen and counter top eating area.

Unique Quality: The unique part of it is the totally unchanged inside and out of the motel after probably 50 years in existence. The owner/staff were not friendly and seemed like they could care less if you stayed here. Price was $57 with tax. That was the good part. Still on a budget run. It may seem far to be about 80 miles from Kanab-but distances around here are meaningless with wide open space

Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park Campground: don't miss camping in the pink

To come to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and not camp would be a travesty. Not that there is so much to do in the park that you need more time but because the campground is one of the park's true highlights. Camping in such close proximity to the dunes in this beautiful desert is magical and with great modern amenities at hand, it's a can't miss experience.

Unique Quality: Tent camping in sand can be messy but you can't deny that it's comfortable. It's soft and forgiving. It' sure easy to drive in the stakes. Our spot was nestled into some nice green shrubbery and junipers to give us some shade and protection from whatever negligible wind was being thrown at us. It was also just steps to a running water faucet and the clean modern restrooms which featured free showers. All that for $16 and you can understand my giving the place such high marks.Oh, and this includes the $4 day use fee for the park so you save that as well. Best of all you can stay in the dunes till it's dark and walk back to your waiting tent, wake up at dawn and walk right back over.

Mission Inn: Reasonable motel in Kanab

We stayed here beginning of August. Good thing we reserved a room, because there was no vacancy in the whole town of Kanab.
Old motel, but nothing broken and a good breakfast included.
50$ per night.

Redrock Country Inn: Friendliest Little Motel In Utah

This place is really cute. The rooms are absolutely cozy. They have a digital air condition system that uses a remote control. Its great because if you are cold or hot in the middle of the night, you can turn it up or down. They have cable, WiFi internet, and a microwave and fridge. The complex has a very tiny pool and an enclosed jacuzzi. It is within walking distance of restaurants, the grocery store, and other things. I would definitelyu recommend this place for many reasons. The place is conveniently located. They have great prices. The staff is amazingly friendly and kind. And they have this cute little rock formation that they made right outside the office door, check it out. There are quite a few motels in Kanab, but I would choose this one hands down again because this place is affordable, clean, and nice.

Unique Quality: The best reason to stay here is the friendly staff. A couple owns this place and they are really great. They are the entire staff here and they manage it really well. I was in the jacuzzi and the wife put the Christmas lights on for us so that we could see better. They are a really great couple and so accomodating. Definitely stay here.

CORAL CAMPING: ATV CENTRAL

Our stay was fine - the campground was full - reservations might not be a bad thing to have for the weekend. Only problem was the cow that got inside the campground perimeter and bellowed at 2 am:-]

Unique Quality: $14 gets you a fire ring, a large cement slab and a huge picnic table for your camping site. The size of the picnic table must relate to the fact that family size here in this part of Utah tends to be on the big side. There are plenty of water pumps in the camping area and a large rest area as well. You also have some exhibits in the visitor center near the park entrance. The park is well known and popular with locals, so reservations might not be a bad thing if you can get them. Some of the sites are double sites maybe reflecting the fact that many families in the area are polygomal or just that ATVers like to congregate in groups ;-\
