The Apache Motel is a great place to stay!

I always stay at the Apache Motel when I'm visiting Moab. It's a clean, no-frills motel which suits me just fine since the only thing I'll be doing in there is sleeping. The ladies behind the desk are always friendly and they offer a AAA discount. I've never had any problems with noise there.

I guess if you want a super swanky place with spa options, this is probably not the motel for you, but I don't personally know anyone who goes to Moab for the hotels.

Unique Quality: The Apache Motel is reasonably priced, in a quiet neighborhood and has a pool which is awesome for those hot desert days. I've always found the rooms to be clean and I've stayed there 4 or 5 times. The arrow sculpture outside is pretty cool, too.

Apache Motel

We asked for a room on the first floor - I am in a wheelchair. They said fine. We arrive, and all they have left is second floor. Barbara at the front desk claims we did not ask for first floor. Having been in the wheelchair for over 30 years you'd think I'd remember. And what I do remember in this case is staying next to my wife as she was calling in the reservation and hearing her asking for a room on the first floor. Look up our trip planning notes (always ask for the name of the person taking the reservation) - Barbara. No wonder, screw up, then blame the customer. No apology, no attempt to help (any other place you'd recommend? - There aren't any, Moab is sold out. And how would she know that?). The best she could do was cancel our reservation. Great service! The first motel down the street (Rustic Inn) had a vacancy. Will never stay there again, and will not recommend it to anyone.

A typical old western hotel

In my opinion ,this hotel needs an other look, a warm attractive color.
The room must be have a profound cleaning especially, the carpet. The bathroom needs a modern furniture.
The owner spended a lot of time to open the door ; the badge was inactive.
airco was a little noisy

I recommend this hotel for a short stay in Moab, The neighbourhood is quietly .
Is situated close a good supermarket ,you don't need your car to go to.
You have a view on the beautiful mountain, sunrising and sunset are unique.

Unique Quality: Outside pool clean and quiet
microwave
fridge
television

Very friendly reception
The owner is very obliging.

Apache Motel

In February 1996 we paid $50/night including tax for 3 people in the suite.

Unique Quality: John Wayne slept here! There is one suite (named the John Wayne Suite) where the actor stayed when he came to this area to film his western movies. I spent 2 nights in the suite with my parents in February 1996. There is room for 4 - 8 people in the suite if I remember correctly. This suite is popular.
