Suggest accomodations for families

by woodneckbeach

We are a group of families heading to Moab in july 2008. Some families have 6people. We are looking at Pack Creek Ranch, Aarchway Inn, & River Canyon Lodge. Can you comment on suites at these locations or others if you have stayed recently. Make suggestions! Thanks for any advice.

You are going to very hot there in July!

Re: Suggest accomodations for families

properties with A.C. and pools for the kids are what we're looking for. Any suggestions are appreciated.
We obviously know July is hot and we'll tour in the cool of morning. We need accomodations suitable for extended stay in July.
Have you been to Moab? Let us know..... Thanks!

We (a family of 4, kids 13 and 7) stayed at the Sorrel River Ranch on the Colorado about 12 miles east (upstream) of Moab, which is a fairly small town. We had a room with a very comfortably sized room down stairs, and the kids had a good sized room but no bath upstairs. They really liked it. Very safe place. tennis, basketball on the grounds, pool and excellent restaurant. they arrange for any tours,,,,horseback riding, atv's, hummers on the slick rock, guided hiking, etc. We would be happy to go back. Arches National Park is fabulous. Sorrel is expensive, but we thought worth it.

We traveled late August, 2006. and it is very hot mid-day. You need to drink constantly...if you have not been to the southwest in the summer season before. This also means that staying in a nice place and retreating there mid-day is nice to do. If you have full days planned, then a place to just sleep does not matter so much.

If Sorrel breaks the bank, call and sound interested but unable to afford it and ask for help/suggestions. More than likely they will guide you in a better direction than you may have happend upon. good luck
