Snow Canyon State Park
Head east and visit Zion National Park. St. George isn't the closest possible spot to base from, but it's the most completely serviced. I'll let others talk about Zion, I've only driven through on my way to other places. Needless to say, however, it's stunning. My trip to Mesquite, Nevada and doing pretty dang well at the blackjack table! Started with $20 and left with $165, which paid for my accomodation!
