The Peery Hotel

The Peery Hotel
Under $200

Unique Quality: Located in the downtown heart of Salt Lake City's cultural, shopping and corporate districts, the restored grace of the Peery Hotel awaits you. Just steps away from the Convention Center, the performing arts center and more, the Peery has the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, sophistication and style.

Under new ownership and completely renovated in 1999, the Peery is considered by many to be the new jewel of Salt Lake City. The Hotel has an intimate, European feel to it that is reinforced by period furnishings throughout the property. All of the amenities expected by today's business traveler are woven with taste into this classic atmosphere.

romantic hotel and restaurant in SLC

by fendleroc

Coming from europe, we would like to end our tripby a romantic hotel and restaurant. I don't mean luxury but very warm people and very good food.

Can you recommand me something?

Best regards,

I am going to Salt Lake City in December. My daughter-in-law recommended to me the Peery Hotel. Said that it was an old fashioned place. It looks cute on the internet. You could also try bed and breakfasts in SLC. I think there are about 8 or 10 of them.

Hi again, I emailed my son who lives in SLC and he sent me this info.

Hotel Monaco is definitely the nicest/charming hotel in downtown SLC.

Peery's probably morecharming since it's older/smaller and cheaper.

Good restaurant's:

Bambara - in the Monaco
Martine's - Tapas, but not necessarily spanish, cozy in a nice old building.
Faustina - nouvelle italian/continental http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4188/is_20060203/ai_n16054362

Breakfast/Healthy Lunch - Cafe Oasis

When I read your post I immediately thought of Hotel Monaco. I see someone else has also recommended it. It is a small, self proclaimed "boutique" hotel. Always gets good reviews.

Do you know a good french restaurant or seafood?

Thank you

Market Street Grill comes to mind (or the Oyster Bar- same kitchen, same building, slightly different atmospheres) for seafood, not especially romantic-kind of noisy. Christophers seafood and steakhouse is new couldn't tell you much about it. Another new one with good reviews is Em's. The Bambara in the Hotel Monaco gets good reviews, food is eclectic. No french restaurants worth mentioning. The Metropolitan is the stuffy upscale standard. The romantic ones are in the canyons. Log Haven in Millcreek, The Tuscany at the mouth of Big Cottonwood, The Yurt at Solitude.

I would recommend the Paris Bistro it's in the 15th and 15th neighborhood district.
