Radio Stations

by azsnkman

Ok so per my Previous thread we have now decided to move to SLC. We will be living in West Valley Utah near Bangerter (?)

Anyhow I cant seem to locate a site listing local radio stations there in town. I pretty much listen to anything, pop, rock, classic rock, sports talk, politics etc..no rap or classical. Anyone know a site I can find these, or suggest them yourselves?

Thanks guys I appreciate it

Unintended Consequences?

by grandmaR

The LDS believe that only persons baptized in their faith will be saved. Since they want all their ancestors to be saved, one of the things that they concentrate on is finding the people from whom they are descended so that they can be baptized in retrospect.

Each person in their faith has certain things that they have to do - they have to serve at the main temple, they have to do some 'recruiting', and they have to find their ancestors.

The result of this is that the Church of Latter Day Saints has one of the largest, if not THE largest library of records of this kind in the world.

whittersanne writes:
3. Baptizing ancestors does not make them Mormon. It is viewed as a necessary "step" and baptized ancestors are not counted among the numbers or members of the church Most of the people working in the Family Library Center are volunteers, and they are patient and helpful.

World Class Rock Climbing

by Laughinglunatic

There is a lot of world class rock climbing throughout Utah. Trad up Little Cottonwood, lots of sport in Big Cottonwood (both within a half hour of Salt Lake). Much much more. If you are going climbing, I hope you know what gear to bring.

Young party there!

by crazyguitar about AXIS

Different atmospheres: DJ, Dance, ouse/thechno, Live music, Rock/pop...
Young people there.
I think is the biggest disco in SLC.
Once a week there is a Gay/lesbian day I don't remember which one... Really I prefer it other days... It's up to you...

English Tea Experience

by Anthropologist about Elizabeth's Bakery & Tea Shop

Quaint little place with tea pots lining the walls. You can have traditional tea or sample the bakery items. College students from the University of Utah enjoy dropping in for food and conversation, but everyone from retired folk to families enjoy the ambiance and British fare. The cheese scones are Delicious! The Chicken and Mushroom Pie is also tasty.

Free tour from the airport to Temple Square

by melosh

If you have at least 2 hours in layover at the Salt Lake City airport you can take advantage of what must be the best tourist bargain ever. The transport to and from the airport and the tour of Temple Square is free according to ads in the welcome magazine I read on my Delta flight. They have special vans which leave from the airport on a regular schedule.
