...it's very easy en Salt Lake City, even when the streets are the widest I've seen and even in Downtown and even in the middle of the block...
Use one of these pink flags and cross the streets without watching to both sides....incredible....fantastic. Even people from other places in USA can't believe it....
As we walked up to the Family History Library, we saw a log cabin located between the Museum of Church History and Art and the Family History Library. My grandmother asked me to go and get some pictures of it, so I did. I had some problems with the reflections in the glass.
The marker in front of the cabin reads:
Residence of Osmyn and Mary Deuel and Osmyn’s brother, Amos, from fall 1847 to spring 1848.
This historic structure is one of two surviving homes built by the Mormon pioneers upon arrival in Salt Lake Valley in 1847 (the other is located at This is the Place State Park at the mouth of Emigration Canyon to the northeast). Originally it was part of the north extension of the pioneer fort erected by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints one mile southwest of here.
By car, driving in from the east, going west into Salt lake City on I80...it is the best view of the Salt Lake Valley. You curve around all these mountains & then turn a corner & all of a sudden there it is!! Salt Lake City!! It is especially beautiful in the evening.
We ordered pizza because I was to tired even to walk a block down to a restaurant. They delivered right to our room. I didn't have to go down to the lobby like I have had to do in Arlington VA and Chicago IL. Cheesy bread
Go see the Mormons at temple square. A very pretty place. They are friendly to talk to and can tell you about their unique religion. Some of them are missionaries from all over the world. You may find someone from your own country. They may even give you a book to take home.
