More about Pioneer Lodge

Another great stay!!

by TripAdvisor Member CrusintheUSA

This was our second stay at the Pioneer Lodge in Springdale, Utah. Very clean, almost like a bed and breakfast with the decor. Not your usual hotel room with hotel furnishings. Nicely decorated. Restaurant
ajacent to lodge.

Wonderful stay near Zion!

by TripAdvisor Member angiebombshell

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pioneer Lodge for two nights in June 2007. We were on a cross-country road trip and made a stop in Zion National Park. Trying to find a hotel in Springdale was difficult because most of them were booked. I looked into some of the
chain hotels in Hurricane (about 20 min away), but after reading all of the horrible reviews, I decided to keep looking. I found the Pioneer Lodge and lucky for us, they had rooms available!

This was the perfect hotel for our 2 night stay. The room was beautifully furnished and the bed was heavenly. The room looked like it had been remodeled recently because everything looked brand new! There was a medium-sized fridge, and the air conditioner was perfect and even had a remote! The pool was nice and had plenty of lounge chairs, where we laid and watched the sunset over the rock formations
on our 2nd night. We were located only about 100 feet from the Zion shuttle stop, and there was a multitude of cute restaurants within walking distance. We ate one meal at the Pioneer Restaurant, which I wouldn't recommend, but there are plenty of other places around. They
also have an espresso bar in the lobby which was a fabulous perk!

Being near Zion, we didn't spend a lot of time in our room, but it was a perfect "pit stop" for our outdoor adventures. I loved it and would stay there again!

No Coffee Maker in Room

by TripAdvisor Member Wuhls

We chose this place for its fridge and microwave, assuming it also had a coffee maker in the room as all standard rooms do now. But the owners have a cafe downstairs where they want your other dollars to go. Too bad. The rooms are otherwise well appointed and close to Zion but they don't even have cups or mugs to put in the microwave--makes no sense as most of the guests are nature lovers/hikers who are not keen to stand in line all morning for a $5 coffee. Also to note, this is a motel in the 60's style. If your blinds are open to the view, other guests may be parading by your window only inches away and get a view of you.

Great location, service and rooms.

When my family and I travel, we typically stay in 4 or 5 star hotels around the country. We were a bit hesitant when booking at The Pioneer, but since we needed a 3 bdrm suite and not many of the hotels in that area seemed to have those, we went ahead and booked a night there

We were so pleasantly surprised! It's located right in the middle of the main strip, so it is easy to find and it's also easy to navigate to other places.

The beds were absolute heaven. My husband and I have a pillow-top at home, so we're always skeptical about getting a good night's sleep in a hotel, but we all slept very comfortably and soundly!

The pool was fine-- nothing extra fancy, but nice and clean and very refreshing. You can see the Red Rock Cliffs from everywhere on the property and the pool is no exception.

The restaurant was perfect for breakfast-- the wait was minimal, not long as others here have reported.

Overall, we found the staff to be friendly and extra helpful and we would highly recommend The Pioneer to anyone. Hopefully we will be back again that way one day, and we will stay there again.

Off the charts property, staff and stay!!

by TripAdvisor Member harleynort

Absolutely the most comfortable beds on our trip. The staff was off the charts friendly. The property is located right in the center of Springdale among all the shopping, etc. Parked our car and walked to everything we did. Zion Park shuttle right in front of the hotel. Great coffee shop and well appointed for a relaxing atmosphere. Pioneer Restaurant was an excellent place to eat but sometimes crowded. Old pictures on the wall of the restaurant were very interesting of Springdale years ago.
Will I ever stay at the Pioneer again? ABSOLUTELY!!!

Most Comfortable Beds Ever!!

by TripAdvisor Member jenvalet

Great location with a view of the mountains and easy access to the shuttle to Zion Park. The room was nicely decorated and very clean - complete with microwave and mini-fridge. We stayed in a king room which had the most comfortable bed ever!! The staff was friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast buffet at their restaurant, which was included in our room rate. It was decent enough with the usual eggs, bacon, etc. I would stay there again.

We wished we stayed longer!

What a great suprise. We were very lucky to have found a gem like Springsdale and a great lodge/hotel like the Pioneer. The facility was in keeping with the town, very quaint and earthy. The rooms were excellent - almost more than I expected - very new bathrooms, great log cabin style furniture, nice amenities (soaps, refrigerator, etc.), ample parking, nice pool, great views.

The hotel has a cafe on site. They don't provide tea/coffee in the room (which actually isn't a bad thing - is hotel coffee ever really that good???!!!). So the cafe choices of lattes and chai teas and pastries and sandwiches was a nice treat.

Springsdale itself is soooo cute. Lots of choice, lots to do, very pretty, very helpful tp tourists. Definitely base yourself here and travel to Bryce, etc. My only regret is staying only 1 - day.

A pleasant surprise.

Good value and a very pleasant stay. Rooms were remodeled, clean and had many ameneties. Nice staff. Great little coffee shop serving very good coffee and a restaurant (did not eat there). Good location - walking distance to park shuttle, shops & restaurants. Would definetely stay here again.
