Spirit Lake Lodge: Not actually in Vernal
This is really just an old fishing lodge on the shores of Spirit Lake. It can boast an elevation of 10,000 ft above sealevel. The August weekend we were there a storm came through and left 2 inches of snow. When it is good weather there is canoeing and fishing on the lake. Moose are a common visitor along with other more secretive animals. Come and sit by the wood stove in the main building, and let the world wash away.
Unique Quality: There are about 10 individual cabins to rent. Expect rustic and be sure to bring your fishing gear. And if you feel like camping, there is a nice campground right next door.
