Outside the entrance to the Harvest House by mtncorg In the park, you can either stay at Zion Lodge or in one of the two campgrounds at the South Entrance. Just south from the Park is the town of Springdale where there are more campgrounds and several motels and bed and breakfasts. One fo the best choices is the Harvest House B&B. A great location - near the South Entrance - and comfortable rooms combine with very knowledgable hosts. They direct you in any direction depending upon which activity you are interested in. Or they can direct you in interests you didn't know you had. A super base for Zion and Southern Utah. Zion Canyon by windsorgirl There are many hotels in Springdale, but most of them look quite expensive. We stayed at the Terrace Brook Lodge which cost $65/night. It was very convenient staying in Springdale and I highly recommend staying overnight so that you can have more than one day to explore Zion NP. Make reservations ahead of time, especially on weekends.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with two beds and satellite tv. The free Zion Shuttle bus stops nearby and will deliver you to and from the park. My adorable niece by karenincalifornia Zion Ponderosa is perfect for a family reunion, and that's exactly what brought me here. This is the newest addition to our extended family, as of our 2002 family reunion at Zion.
Like I said, perfect for families. If you are honeymooners, or otherwise looking for more romantic accomodations, you will want to stay at the lodge right in the park.

Enjoying Zion views from hotel with my newborn son by jumpingnorman I decided to stay at the Pioneer Lodge because it is considered a historic part of Zion, located at the west entrance. Also, it is close to Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Kolob Canyon, and Pipe Springs National Monument. It is the perfect station for seeing these sites. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained and the porches are nice to relax in during the morning - for you to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Zion. It has a nostalgic western cowboy feel, bringing you to the days of the wild wild west. John Wayne was actually sleeping in the room next to ours, hehehe… Check in and check out were easy and we had no problems with the staff at all. The only problem I had was I had a nightmare during the night, but it was probably because of the day’s driving through all those treacherous road cliffs. But my nightmare was about a lady coming out of the ceiling to seduce me --- I do have a wild imagination, lol… The hotel also has the Pioneer Lodge Restaurant onsite and an internet cafe (wireless connection available) and relaxing outdoor seasonal pool and hot tub. But we will also tried the other restaurants around the area. Truly a memorable experience to stay in this historic hotel…
