"We Were Passing Through..."
Bennington is in the southwestern portion of Vermont. It can be reached from Williamstown in Massachusetts by traveling north on Route 7. Bennington is one of Vermont’s larger cities.
"The Bridges of Bennington County"
While traveling north of Route 7 through Bennington, we decided to follow the signs leading to the covered Bridges. We found two of the five nearby covered bridges. We took time to stroll through and drive over a covered bridge. The bridges poise an interesting and pleasant site. The covered design of the bridges was originally intended to help protect the wood from moisture and thus help prevent rot and preserve the structure.
