Shuttle Bus from Hotel
Unique Quality: This hotel is only a few minutes from the ski area. Free shuttle service runs every day of the week. The first shuttle leaves for the mountain 8 am. The shuttles to bring you back from the mountain start at 3 pm.
The shuttle picks you up right at the front door and the lockers are right there too, so it's all very convenient.

Cold feet!
We arrive after 11 pm and first put our ski equipment in an outdoor locker area, they don't like ski stuff in the hotel. I thought my skin was going to be left on the metal key lock it was so COLD! So we check in and go to our room. It was FREEZING!!! Seems the heat is turned off between customers to save on energy. Turned on heat. Left on clothes, including coats, hats, and mittens. After an hour, we are just so tired, we must sleep. So we order extra blankets and sleep in our clothes, cuz' no one wants to undress.
In the morning, either we acclimated or it didn't seem too bad. We did discover that for the first foot of space off the floor arctic temperatures prevailed for our entire 3 night stay. We stuff our comforter along the bottom door trim of our balcony door where a steady, north-easterly wind blows through our room. That helps.
As the trip goes on, we get used to wearing 3 layers of clothing.
Unique Quality: Harried, understaffed personel still seemed friendly enough.
Fireplaces galore, always on to help ward off the cold, leather couches in upstairs lounge were comfy.
Indoor pool looked green and uninviting, but the indoor and outdoor hot tubs were busy, but over-crowded.
