 | Montpelier Betsy's Bed & Breakfast Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | |
Pink Victorian house by brazwhazz Due to our late decision to go to Vermont during the foliage season, we ended up booking two different bed and breakfasts for our 2-night stay in Montpelier. Betsy's B&B, despite being ever so slightly further from the town centre than the Inn at Montpelier, was much less expensive and the service was just as friendly. In fact, the morning we left, Betsy herself offered to take us by car to the bus terminal since it was on her way out that day. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with a wonderful selection of home-cooked items such as the apple coffee cake. What was on the table alone was too much for both of us, so we had to pass on the eggs and toast that the staff were willing to make us. To add to the charm, the B&B is set in a beautiful pink Victorian house. The fact that it manages to stand out in the cozy town of Montpelier says a lot. Please note it is possible you will sleep in the neighbouring house (an annex to the B&B), but the vintage interior decoration is up to par with that of the main house.

We had self contained acommodation over the garage called the Carriage House, but we were allowed, indeed encouraged at no extra cost, to make use of the breakfast facilities in the main house. Breakfast was cooked freshly for each person. A really good place to stay, Useful tip if you stay for 7nights Betsy gives you a discount equal to 1 night. Betsy and her husband won an award for their restoration of the house to its original victorian looks. If you are on foot as we were, it's up hill all the way to Betsy's but worth it when you get there.Website: http://www.central-vt.com/web/betsybb/ Other Contact: Fax (802) 229-5412
