How far is Stowe from the Closest airport?

Or am I better just to drive there?
(I'm in Montreal)

If you're talking about Stowe Vermont, there's an airport in Burlington, but the roads are very twisty, and why fly when you're already so close anyway?

Re: Re: uh...

I've only been in the US for a total of 4 days in my life, everythime I was "shipped" in and out express for fighting tournaments.. so II don't really know wher things are around..

I see your from Boston!
:)

My biggest turnament was fought there (and I brought back a nice 6ft tall trophy!)
;)

But Boston is definitely a place I'd like to get to SEE one day..

Hey Deus,

I think the closest semi-major airport would be Manchester, NH. Not sure about the Burlington airport. I think Stowe is about 3 hours from Manchester. You're probably better off driving from Montreal - a 3 1/2 hour drive?

Yeah! Come to Boston!!!

My recommendation would be to take the train. Sit back and relax.
I've only been up there skiing but had a great time in Stowe.

Enjoy yourself.

Deus,

Stowe is only about a 35 min. drive from Burlington or even less. Just hop on I-89 south and get off at the Waterbury exit and follow the signs to Stowe.

What is the event in Stowe that you're going to?

Re: Re: uh...

by Reverend

Oh yeah, and if you do fly, Burlington International Airport is right there. Although, it sure isn't a hard drive to make.

Re: Re: uh...

you've been up here a few times..how long would it take to drive from mtl?

Re: Re: uh...

by Reverend

Well, Montreal to Burlington is about 2 1/2 hours at the most and then another 35 min. to Stowe, if that. I don't know if they are taking much more time at the border now because of the SARS stuff, but that would happen at the airport too, just questions anyway.

thanks for that info .

I remember from my vacation last year driving into the suburban areas of Montreal from the Burlington, VT area in 90 minutes. It is probably in your best interest to drive it.

Best interest in a way that the ride is really nice...or money wise
(I do work for an airline..)

You must absolutely rent a bike for a day and take advantage of Stowe's wonderful layout of bike and walking trails. They traverse all over the area, going over rivers, through covered bridges, and across open plains. Rollerblading is also a great activity.  There are a bunch of rollerblading parks and stunt areas around, so it shouldn't be hard to find a good one.

"View from the top of Mount Mansfield - 4393 feet"

Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont
It is a rather long mountain with many peaks.
This is the view to the south.
Down the spine of the Green Mountains
The Long Trail follows the ridge of these mountains.

The tramway goes up most of the way, a trail goes further
up to the summit.

"Mount Mansfield - Approaching the summit"

Above the treeline there are alpine plants,
and bare rock

"View to the north"

From the summit, northern Green Mountains, Vermont
The distant mountains are in Quebec, Canada
