Travel Tips for Stowe

Best Winter Activity!

by AliasGirl

Three coupes were in Vermont enjoying a few days of fun in the snow. Not everyone skied, so we had to come up with a way to get everyone out and enjoying the snow without breaking a leg, so we came up with renting snowmobiles.

We contacted Stowe Snowmobile Tours, reserved our places and paid for our tickets via phone. We showed up at their storefront, signed the paperwork, watched a video on safety and got our equipment: helmet and boots. We all went out to the parking lot, got on our snowmobiles and followed the tour guide for two hours through.." the deep woods of Vermont..For the beginner through expert, Stowe Snowmobile Tours takes you through snow-covered, blue-spruce woods. Experience breath taking views of the Green Mountains." (description from their website)

We doubled up and rented three snowmobiles, our husbands/boyfriends led the mobiles but once you get to the midway point you can stop at a rest area and can exchange drivers at this point. I was having so much fun, I didn't want to drive. Plus the fact that you really had to hold on and steer very forcefully due to the hilly slopes and the turns and the slippery snow. I was just fine holding onto my hubby.

I highly recommend this outdoor activity! :) Scenic Guided Tour

True Vermont

Up Rt 100 you come to Stowe and this small Vermont Town looks like every description I have ever heard about Vermont. From the church to the small gift shops and general store you get the feeling you are in central New England. We don't ski but this place must be great in winter. We hope to return in the fall someday to see the colors, sit by a fire, walk the mountains and enjoy the grest town of Stowe once more.
