Is there a car rental location in Stowe? Need to get to Burlington from Stowe for part of a day.
Don't know of any Hertz or other rent-a-car agencies in Stowe, but you can get a bus at the bus station to Burlington via the VT Flyer system. The Bus Stops in the center of town and is popular with tourists. If you get stuck,you can always hitchike as alot of hikers headed north do this to get to Mt. Mansfield.
i know this post is too late now because uve been but for anyone else who might be interested if u phone thrify car rentals-- number can easily be found via the internet they will drive over 2 stowe/take u to their office and u can do all the paperwork there:)
We stayed with friends who were kind enough to drive us around Vermont a couple of days. The drive to and from Stowe was interesting. Beautiful mountains and lakes and streams and rivers everywhere! The roads were narrow and just a little firghtening when it came to the turns. It was a beautiful ride though. I can't even imagine the roads in the winter though.
