More about West Hill House Bed and Breakfast

Cute, warm, cozy, friendly, & tasty too! :)

by TripAdvisor Member thenerb

Susan and Peter are wonderful hosts of this truly cozy and classic Vermont B&B. This was our second stay here, but our first stay under their ownership and we were once again very happy with our visit. We stayed in the Wildflower room which has been recently redone to add a bit more space and a new fireplace. In the unusual and cute bathroom, the gigantic jacuzzi tub is surrounded by a tiled wall with rustic wood beams; the perfect place to start a romantic evening with your spouse.

Our breakfasts were very tasty, unique, and memorable. Perhaps our only complaint about our stay was that the food choices & portion size for breakfast, while very well prepared and delicious, were small and not high enough in calories/carbs for our day of heavy skiing. We didn't want to stop for lunch on the slopes, but found that we were hungry by late morning/early afternoon and had to take a lunch break to refuel.

To be honest, this is the only negative thing we could come up with about our stay, even after heavy pondering. We will absolutely be back and very much look forward to visiting again. We also hope to have the opportunity to stay here during the summer or fall foliage as the pictures of the WHH's gardens look so beautiful.

the best B&B around!!!

My husband and I recently spent out first anniversary in Warren, VT. Our stay at the West Hill House was truly wonderful. Susan and Peter and extremely hospitable. They make your stay so comfortable and their B&B is very cozy and inviting, especially after a long day of snowboarding. Susan's breakfasts were delicious and she was very accomadating to our dietary restrictions. She also keeps her cookie jar stocked with yummy treats and hot chocolate and coffee are always readily available. They really just do a fantastic job to make your stay a great experience. I can't wait to go back! And I encourage anyone to stay here. It is an experience not to be missed!

Best Inn in Vermont

by TripAdvisor Member cindyhair123

Peter and Susan, the Inn owners are the most accomadating and generous hosts. They always made sure everything was to our liking and we had enough to eat at breakfast. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Very quaint, very Vermont. There are always fresh treats in the kitchen so you can grab a treat and a hot coco and sit by the fireplace in the common area and relax after a long day of skiing. We've stayed there two years in a row and we'll be back for many more.!!!!!!

Look no further

Stop! You have found the right place to stay if you are visiting Sugarbush. The rooms are cozy and private and everything they are billed to be on their website. Susan's breakfasts will only make you want more, which will make you want to lie down....be careful... Her cookies (or similar) after your day on the slopes will be equally enjoyed. You will want for nothing, except maybe more powder......

Looking forward to returning soon!

We stayed 4 nights in January for a birthday ski weekend. This property can't be beat for comfort, convenience to ski area, and personal service. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever enjoyed in our travels. The Garden room was also very private and convenient to parking. Peter and Susan are the most amazing hosts providing a very high level of personal service. Breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. This was our second trip to the area and we continue to be impressed with the natural beauty, interesting artisan shops and friendly people. We'll be visiting again soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful four days at West Hill, in their Paris Suite. You will love the comfort of its two-person jacuzzi tub, and the memory foam bed. We could have stayed in our suite all four days. But then we would have missed out on all of the fun things to do and places to see in the area, that Susan and Peter recommended. You will love the food, your hosts, and never want to leave! We cannot wait to return!

Wonderful Stay at the West Hill

by TripAdvisor Member Ceiling

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Peter & Susan, who are two exceptionally warm, friendly, and interesting people. (They cook well, too - the breakfasts were great.) We are always a bit worried about B&Bs because you never know what you'll be getting (we've had some bizarre experiences), but our expectations were more than exceeded at West Hill and we will book here again next time we head to VT. Our favorite B&B hands down. Many thanks, Peter & Susan!

Great Escape

by TripAdvisor Member SilvestriJoe

My wife and I were looking for a place to get away for some time before our baby was born (a "babymoon"), and the West Hill House did better than we ever could have expected. We have stayed at many B&Bs in Vermont, but several things stood out about the West Hill:
- The Innkeepers: Peter and Susan gave us a lot of individual attention despite the business of the season. They were eager to help and responded quickly to any of our needs. Yet they were not overly zealous. We had hte privacy we wanted.
- The Grounds: Were impeccably neat.
- The Guests: Meals were family style with other guests. This may not suit all travelers, but I thought it was a great ice breaker since so often you see the other people around the house and never really talk. Once talking, the opthers were great resources for experiences with area vendors, where to get good views, and fun things to do.
We would certainly like to stay with Peter and Susan again. Just have to find that babysitter... :)

Thank you West Hill

We accidently booked our hotel in Warren Vermont on the wrong day. So at 11:30pm, West Hill received a phone call asking if they had room...they graciously accepted us and did not make us feel like an inconvenience. It ended up being better than if we had made the correct reservation at the original hotel. After a day of skiing it was nice to have a large downstairs common area to relax in as opposed to just a hotel room. It was also great to have things to do between skiing and dinner such as snow shoeing. It was defintately one of the best travel mistakes we have made yet!! We would definately go back.

Wonderful bed, breakfast and hosts

by TripAdvisor Member TheGoyettes

We really loved our stay. The West Hill House Bed and Breakfast in Warren, Vermont is very close to Sugarbush ski resort and on the free bus shuttle route to get to the mountain. The breakfast is delicious. Susan and Peter are wonderful owners and people. Peter took our reservation over the phone and asked great questions to ensure our stay was perfect (i.e. dietary needs, allergies, trip recommendations). When we got there they made us feel right at home. My husband is allergic to cats. They have two cats. After we told them about his allergies they kept Smokey and Snowball out of the room we were to stay in, cleaned it very well and managed the kitties the whole time we were there. My husband had very little reaction to the cats' presence. And the cats are beautiful and friendly, so cat lovers will be very pleased. It has a great local feel to it. It's also very homey. We are going back again this weekend.
