Cabin in the Woods, Bridgewater Corners: Beware

We made reservations to stay at Cabin in the Woods in Bridgewater Corners, Vermont in 2009. Unfortunately it was not like its website advertised. It was very run-down with squishy spots in the floor and a stove that had trouble lighting and just generally dilapidated furnishings, etc. Worst by far is that it was not private at all. It had no window coverings of any sort, so anyone could see into any room at any time, and there was a caretaker’s cabin very nearby and other buildings in the vicinity. We simply could not stay there under such conditions. We asked for a refund, and the owner initially agreed, but never followed through. They don’t accept credit cards for a reason, as people would regularly dispute the charges given the significant difference between what they advertise and what they deliver. We want to warn others who might consider staying here.
