Main Street Inn: Great Property, Even Greater Location!
The Main Street Inn is a little boutique hotel located in downtown Blacksburg. It opened in November 2008 and just celebrated its first anniversary. There's only 34 rooms and most of them are suite style. It's nice because you have a separate area for sleeping and relaxing. The rooms aren't the biggest in Blacksburg, but given the location, they are really nice.
There's no real breakfast in the morning but coffee and tea is served, along with biscotti and fruit. The hotel is part of the downtown merchants of Blacksburg and encourages the guests to eat at the local restaurants nearby. Actually, the Italian restaurant right next door just started serving breakfast, so it's really convenient. There's also a Starbucks and Subway directly across the street, and more breakfast options a couple blocks away.
Given the small property, there is some parking for guests in the attached lot, and the rest of the parking in the Kent Square parking garage across the street. I've heard people complain about the latter before but the walk from the Kent Square garage to the hotel is much, much shorter than the walk from parking lots in huge hotels/resorts. Also, it's a DOWNTOWN hotel. Guests should be happy to be in such an amazing location that is walking distance from everything. You can park your car and leave it there until you need to leave and just not deal with it. The hotel staff also encourages you to load/unload in the attached lot to make it even easier for guests.
The Inn has a very homely and cozy feel to it. The lobby has a lovely sitting area with newspapers out for guests to read, an LCD flat screen tv, and a fireplace. Guests enjoy relaxing in that area.
All in all, excellent service, good amenities, and amazing location. Definitely worth a stay!
Location, location, location. And service!

Best Western Red Lion Inn: Names the BEST hotel for a reason!
The service was great, very willing to help with needs, the front desk employees even drew us a makeshift map on how to get there then also printed the actual directions turn for turn. The amneties were amazing, indoor heated pool, Smoking and pet rooms NOT in main building, Superior continental breakfast, SPAS (found that surprising), Hotel Restaurant, Hot tub, Towels at the pool, hot tub AND the spas!
I would DEFINATELY recommend this hotel within Blacksburg! VERY NICE

The Inn at Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech's new on-campus hotel
The Inn at Virginia Tech was opened in 2004 and is the only hotel located on the Virginia Tech campus. It is one of the more expensive places to stay in Blacksburg, but also the most convenient to the college and one of the nicest. The Inn has 147 rooms, a restaurant and a bar, as well as room service.
It also has a conference center, which is very well equipped, with a ballroom and 10 conference rooms.
