Charlottesville's Best
This is one of the best hotels in Charlottesville. We are always staying in Charlottesville. And we decided to try this motel. It turned out to be great. The cleanliness of the rooms was definatly its best aspect. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. The staff was friendly and our stay was the best so far. We will definatly stop by here again. Without a doubt.
Unique Quality: EXTREMEMLY CLEAN!!!!!! The rate was also very reasonable.

For budget travellers (43$ for 2)
We arrived at this motel - located some 4 miles north of downtown - at around midnight. The parking was almost full of cars including large pick-ups and trucks. The place seems to be popular among low budget travellers and small business. Well, it's inexpensive, probably one of the cheapest places to hit a sack in the area. With a coupon (from a coupon book taken from Virginia Welcome Center) we paid only 43.04 $ including tax (2 beds in a room).
Unfortunatlly there was no coffee maker in a room but coffee was served in the lobby. Cable TV - as always - included local weather channel, so I could check forecast for the next day. The continental breakfast was quite good although nothing special. There are some restaurants on walking distance.
Unique Quality: For notebook/PDA users: free wireless internet access. Dogs allowed (10$).

Super 8 Charlottesville Va
The Super 8 is one of the least expensive hotels in the city of Charlottesville. Because of the low price and the location outside of the congested downtown area, it is a favorite for truckers, blue collar workers, and low-budget travelers. Though it was probably perfectly safe, we felt a little uneasy during our stay. The small parking lot was packed with over-sized trucks and big pickups, leaving very little room to park. While checking in, the front desk clerk (we'll call him "Bob") was scatterbrained and completely overwhelmed with having to answer the phone and deal with a customer simultaneously. The Super 8 does offer complimentary Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee in their cramped lobby.
The hotel is about two miles from the downtown area, but there are a few restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
We paid $50.33 (including taxes) for a room for two.
