Great view and rooms, wonderful breakfast!

Courteous and attentive staff, beautiful views of the sound and boats, clean rooms and an awesome breakfast buffet. Whenever I vacation in Chincoteague, I always look forward to staying in this hotel. Eat outside on the deck at least once if possible.
Great location and views -- A little pricey

We stayed here for one night for $179/night. We had a large, clean, comfortable suite with a deck facing the water. The cookies handed to us at check-in were yummy and the breakfast the next day was nice (not spectacular, but nice). We even spent a little time in the indoor pool (that faces the parking lot).
We'd stay here again, except for one thing: The Comfort Suites RIGHT NEXT DOOR not only has an indoor pool, but also an outdoor one that faces the bay. This would have been much more romantic and enjoyable, as we were here for my birthday.
Incredible vacation experience

This is one of THE best hotels we have stayed in (annually for 4 years now). The staff is incredibly courteous, not only at check in but throughout the entire stay. The warm cookies and bottled water received at check-in are a yummy way to start your vacation and a delicious treat after traveling. The rooms are ALWAYS kept impecibly clean and supplied with an ample supply of towels and washcloths (6 per day for 2 people), without having to phone the front desk. We have stayed at several other hotels in the area and nothing has come close to the service and cleanliness of this hotel. We even tried staying next door at the Comfort Suites, and while they are adequete, nothing spectacular. While nothing at the Comfort Suites is dirty, per say, it just has the feeling of being a bit unclean. This Hampton is anything but. This year, we even left on Saturday to go to the beach at about 12ish in the afternoon. Upon getting there, the beach parking lot was full, so we headed back to the hotel. When we got back, our room was once again spotless! (And we were only gone for about half an hour!) It almost felt like we were the only guests there. We even received a note from our housekeeper saying she hoped we were enjoying our stay! The only complaint I could have at all is the breakfast. While the area is kept clean and well stocked, there isn't as much variety as there used to be. Overall, a very small minus for this great hotel. A lovely experience year after year! Keep up the great work Hampton!
What Waterview!?

An abundance of knowledgable, although somewhat stuffy, staff makes the service at this hotel excellent. It has a great location with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. After reading the high reviews, I was a little disappointed with the quality of the room's furniture, bathroom, and most importantly, the bedding. Despite the great reviews, the hotel is still a typical, average, 3 star Hampton Inn -- far below a Westin, Wyndham, or similar 4 star property.
The best part of the hotel was its lounge in the back of the ground floor that has big windows and a beautiful view of the bay. It's a great place to sit and relax.
The big disappointment with this trip was the "Side Waterview of Chincoteague Bay." I paid a premium for a room with a balcony and a view only to be very disappointed. The photos posted are what I saw everyday looking out from the room and onto the balcony from my room, 319. I hardly think that a view of sludge, trash, and what looks to be a dumpside qualify as a side waterview and I felt a little cheated for paying extra for a view. Future visitors: know what view you are paying for!
If you don't mind the misleading view (or are placed elsewhere in the hotel), I am sure you will have a very pleasant stay.
