The funny thing about the Lighthouse Motel is that it is a couple of miles away from the lake and, even if it were on the lakefront, no seagoing ships are on Buggs Island Lake. Hotels like the Lake Motel and the Best Western on the lake may charge twice as much per night as the Lighthouse Motel. I guess location is the name of the game in the hotel business. The rooms and the restaurant are nothing more or less than basic accommodations and dining, but not bad.
The small lighthouse on Route 58 just west of downtown Clarksville makes this hotel impossible to miss.
The Lake Motel is the original lakefront motel before the national chains ever thought about setting up shop in Clarksville. Because of its prime location, despite competition from nearby chains, the Lake Motel can charge a pretty penny ("a lot of money" for those in Roxboro) for a room with a lake view in high season.
Nice view of the lake
