Full Nelson Virginia Pale Ale
by littlesam1
Full Nelson Virginia Pale Ale from Blue Mountain Brewery is another local microbrew we tried while in Fredericksburg. This one was my choice as I prefer the pale ales to the darker brown ales. I enjoyed this local beer made from local hops and flavors. When in the Fredericksburg area its an excellent choice.

Kenmore, Part II
by von.otter
My dear Mrs. Fleming:
Kenmore, like Mount Vernon, should become another National shrine of the gracious domestic life of the many-sided George Washington.
Yours faithfully, Herbert Hoover
FROM ONE PRESIDENT TO ANOTHER Mrs. Vivian Minor Fleming, president of the Kenmore Association, received the above letter, dated May 27, 1929, from the new president. How exciting this recognition must have been for her and the Association.
In 2008 the Kenmore Association was rechartered as The George Washington Foundation, which also manages Ferry Farm. A major restoration of the house was recently completed. Special attention was paid to the repair of the plaster ceiling decorations. The last time these stucco moldings were extensively repaired was in the 1880s. The new owner’s 19-year-old son, William K. Howard Jr., spent one year repairing the damage suffered during the War of Northern Aggression.
In the center of the ceiling of the first-floor chamber, as bedrooms were called in the 18th century, Apollo shines down (see photos #1 & #3).
Old town Fredericksburg!

I was pleasantly surprised when I drove to Old town Fredericksburg. It was beautiful with it's narrow, very European style, streets. The town (If I don't remember wrong) is about 300 years old (OLD with American standards) and it shows, but in a nice way.
