Old fashioned Fourth of July
My friend Drew and I enjoyed a wide range of festive entertainment and activities at the 2006 event which include musical entertainment, patriotic arts and crafts, a petting zoo for children, contests and games for all ages, the new Little Patriot's Play Pavilion, and much more! This event featured tethered hot air balloon rides, a watermelon feast, Uncle Sam on stilts, a patriotic performance featuring a historic colour guard, drum and fife music, and a period musket salute by Living History Associates, Ltd.
Live entertainment included Code Blue Bluegrass Band, playing everything from the standard traditional bluegrass music and four-part gospel music, to performing their own music. They let you bring your dog to this event as long as it was on a leash.
There was the standard fun fair cuisine, but there was a tent of Asian food. I had me some chicken satay without the spicy sauce and some dumplings. Drew slathered his chicken with the spicy red sauce as he is rather keen on spicy food.
