 We have chosen to stay at this Hampton Inn based on price and location. IThe hotel isn't too far outside of D.C. and the rate was good at under $60 a night. The hotel in a residential area; close to food and shopping as well as being right by the police station which made me feel as if it was definitely safe.

The hotel can't be too old as the lobby looked sparkling with updates as do the rooms. Depending on availability we are usually given an upgrade to a suite; but there have been times that the hotel was jam packed an we were given a regualr room. Surprisingly I like the layout of the regular rooms betetr than the suites. I also don't like that the suites are located on the first floor of the hotel.

The standard king rooms have the basic bathroom, king bed, armoire, TV, desk, fridge, microwave, desk, bench and coffee maker. The suite has all of the above along with a couch, chair, coffee table larger bathroom with seperate vanity and a kitchen area with the same microwave, fridge, sink and coffee maker. Yes, the suite is larger but I like the layout of the standard king room better.

The breakfast here which is included in your stay is the standard of bagels, pastry, toast, cereal, fruit, tea, coffee, juice and breads. We usually wake up early and grab some bagels to bring back to the room for breakfast.

The helpful and friendly manner of the staff are a bonus to staying at this hotel. We had a problem with noise during one of our stays. There was a school staying here on a trip to DC and they were running wild in the hotel. After I went to the front desk they moved our room to another floor. When the noise and ruckus continued; they pulled the chaperones of the group downstairs to notify them of the situation and that it wouldn't be tolerated. After that we had quiet in the halls and could get a restful sleep.

If we can't get a reservation at the Hilton; this is our second choice for hotel in this area.
