Martinsville
"The Local Racetrack"
Living in Virginia, one thing you can't escape here is the presence of motorsports. People love cars here, and this area (VA and North Carolina) have produced some of the greatest stock car drivers ever. The main reason for this talent pool was the amount of moonshining in the area required some very skilled drivers to evade the law, combine those drivers with great country boy mechanics, and you've got yourself the birth of NASCAR. The local track for Roanoke is the smallest track on the NASCAR circuit located in Martinsville Virginia. The town has only about 33K people living in it, and the race crowd is triple that. I'll post more tips on the town when I stay there, but for now, just a few pics of the racetrack.
