Marriott Courtyard: Great room - service/anemities not on par

I am posting this now and perhaps prematurely, as I'm going to meet w/the manager in charge tomorrow morning. Hopefully he will make this trip a more memorable one that it's been so far...
Upon arriving at the hotel w/my 83 year old mother (a 'girls' vacation), I found out that the restaurant that I had counted on to 'fill' in for dinners during our stay was closed!! My mother can't walk very far - so having a restaurant on site was one of the key factors for choosing a VB hotel. Renovating (nice I told the front deskwoman...but unfortunate I didn't know this in advance)....... they never posted in this on their website (or at least that I saw). They do have a 'bistro' entrance eatery/lounge type area, but their menu is extremely limited and certainly not a dining experience! Of course - it only takes one thing to get the ball rolling - or at least this is how it seemed. Ice machine that's conveniently located outside our room hasn't worked since we arrived. I nicely made a call to the front desk to alert them the afternoon we arrived - but here we are, another day later and it still doesn't work. Hoofing it to the next floor up is now my exercise & part of my routine for the evening! Room didn't get made today....arrived back from the beach and it appears they weren't able to get all the rooms done by 5pm!!!! Double duty tomorrow for the maids. Although the Housekeeping Mngr did stop by (she did a wonderful job of apologizing), I declined their offer for a late room clean. By now, my mom was relaxing and getting ready for dinner. Prior to her arrival, I asked for towels from the front desk (twice actually.......and they never came)....so I hunted down the floor maids and they graciously provided me w/another set. I never did receive any additional towels...so unsure if the front desk ever did ask Housekeeping to drop off any!!! Unbelievable!!!!! To top it off, I'm actually working the entire time I'm here. I had a fedx pkg arrive for me this morning - and the front desk never called me to leave a message of its arrival - I had to call downstairs to confirm delivery!!! Needless to say - the room is absolutely fabulous - great views, well kept,etc.,etc., front desk and service is far from acceptable. Keep you posted on tomorrow's review w/the manager!!! They have an opportunity - let's see if they see it as that - or that I'm just another Virginia Beach tourist with a dollar to spend!

Our room is a double suite. Wonderful layout and meticulously decorated/arranged. Wonderful view and very spacious. I'm very happy with the room. However, the 'other' experiences are clouding my room enthusiasm!

The Cavalier Oceanfront: Traditional Hotel accomodation

Spent almost a week at this fine family hotel during a bussiness trip. The hotel was fine and all request were met. Primarily for families so there was no noise and perfect for at combined work and relax trip.
